Light in Africa has over the previous 7 years grown at an amazing rate. Volunteers who return after a lapse of 2 /3 years are astounded at the work that has been achieved since their last visit.
We have encountered problems,in that as we have grown in all areas we were not able to be as 'cost effective' as we would have liked as we had our rented facilities spread out in different area's.
Now, thanks to an amazing blessing from the USA, we have been able to purchase 11 acres of prime land by the side of a river, and this site will enable us to build 22 separate bungalows for approx 10 children and a surrogate mother each to live in, as well as provide accomodation to house our social workers / medical teams / administration block.
And with accomodation for our many overseas volunteers, without whose help and funding, none of this would be able to take place.
We greatly appreciate their efforts and support of everyone involved in this project.
We shall also have 'free' water from the Sanya River for our farm animals and be able to grow a large amount of our own food, to become self-sustainable.
Our first bungalow is nearing completion, and we are so excited to see it all 'come together'.
Our appreciation goes to Pastor Frank Titus, our Project Manager for his wisdom and negotiating skills with the local builders and traders.
Special thanks also go to the Hai District Engineer who has been very thorough in ensuring everything has been completed according to the law and the plans.
Our Sincere Appreciation To Everyone.
