June 2009 Another special day at Light in Africa and especially for "our" pastor Frank and his gorgeous Salome. It was a beautiful day for this lovely couple and all of us at Light in Africa, including the many volunteers who work(ed) with Frank at Tudor Childrens Village, wish them a bright and happy future.. |

In 2008 Light in Africa friends Karen & Wouter Zanen from Canada celebrated their wedding. And although very far from Kilimanjaro, the children of Light in Africa were very close to their hearts and to the hearts of their many friends and family who participated in the celebration. We wish a long and happy life to the newly wed and hope to see them one day soon in the Tudor Village so we can express our gratitude in person. |

We have been thrilled when two of our abandoned babies from Light in Africa’s nursery were adopted in 2006. Our first baby to be adopted is a “miracle baby” indeed. She arrived at our center early one morning with an entourage of police and local leaders of community in the area that she was found. They requested that we should babtize her immediately as she was not expected to survive. After much are by our medical team, she grew to be a beautiful child and we are so happy and delighted that she now has her own loving family to take great care of her |

| Our second baby to be adopted is now living with her new mom and dad who are missionaries in Tanzania. A church step was where the local police department found her laying and thirteen of them brought her to our center. They all wanted to hold her and bless her on her way | |

| A day to remember | |

Dirk and Christa from the Netherlands have been wonderful supporters of our children for a number of years. They administer the Light in Africa - Netherlands sponsorship scheme. So it was no surprise to us that they would want a ‘fairytale’ wedding on the beach by the side of the Indian Ocean. And of-course they could not possibly have the ceremony without the many children present that Dirk and Christa family and friends support. What a Wonderful, Thrilling day it was! The children could hardly contain their excitement as we traveled to Dar-es-Salaam to actually meet with their sponsors who have o faithfully sent them Birthday and Christmas gifts each year and now they were actually going to meet the ….. From the bandas on the beach by the ocean we made our preparations, the girls wore their best dresses that was bought for them b Sam, a volunteer who was with us for Christmas and the boys had new suits made for them. Balloons flowers, soda’s, champagne and cake was in abundance and it really was A Day to Remember |
